Suspected SIMI activist taken to Belgaum

Hubli, Mar 9 (UNI) The Corps of Detectives (CoD), investigating the activities of the banned SIMI, today took suspected SIMI activist Mohammed Asif to Castle Rock area in Belgaum district to search for hidden arms and explosive materials.

The CoD team obtained the custody of Asif, who was lodged in Hindalga jail in Belgaum, through a body warrant.

However, the investigating team reportedly made no headway in unearthing arms and explosive materials, allegedly kept hidden in the area bordering Karnataka-Goa.

Meanwhile, the JMFC court would pronounce its verdict tomorrow on the objections filed by Asif's advocate that his client was shifted to Belgaum jail from Bellary central prison against the orders of the judge.
