Suspected SIMI activist Asif taken to Belgaum

Hubli, Mar 9 (UNI) Corps of Detective (CoD) investigating into the activities of SIMI, the banned outfit, had taken Mohammed Asif who was under Judicial custody to Castle Rock area in Belgaum district here today.

The CoD team which had obtained the custody of Mohammed Asif, who was lodged in Hindalga jail in Belgaum, through a body warrant and searched for the stashed illegal arms and explosive materials.

However the investigating team reportedly made any headway in unearthing arms and other explosive materials allegedly kept hidden near the interstate Karnataka and Goa state border in the area.

Meanwhile, JMFC court would be giving its verdict tomorrow on the objections filed by Asif Mohammad's advocate, that his client was shifted to Belgaum jail from Bellary central jail against the orders of the judge.
