RSS, CPI-M activists clash in Delhi, several injured

New Delhi, Mar 9 : Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) workers and activists of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) clashed at the latter's office here today, in which several of them were injured.

Activists belonging to the RSS threw stones at the CPI-M's office to show their rage against CPM leaders. The RSS workers damaged the cars of CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat and party politburo member Sitaram Yechuri.

Rapid Action Force has been deployed at the CPI-M's office to bring the violence under control.

It may be recalled that the Bharaitya Janata Party and the RSS have collectively stepped up their offensive against the CPI-M led Left Front Government and the state police charging them with conspiring to eliminate political enemies in Kannur district of Kerala that is considered to be a bastion of the Left parties.

BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu had said that the police were acting at the behest of the ruling party.

The Congress party too has criticised the role of the police and Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who hails from Kannur and demanded his resignation.
