Lyngdoh appointed as pro-tem speaker

Shillong, Mar 9 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor SS Sidhu has appointed Hopingstone Lyngdoh as the pro-tem Speaker of the 60-member Legislative Assembly in the state.

Mr Lyngdoh will administer the oath of office of the 59 newly elected MLAs of the eight Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on March 10.

Polling in Baghmara seat in South Garo Hills, countermanded following the death of Congress MLA and candidate Sengran M Sangma, would be held on March 22. Counting would be taken up on March 24.
