Bird flu confirmed in Murshidabad, culling to begin tomorrow
Berhampore, Mar 09 (UNI) Bird Flu has been detected and confirmed in two sub-divisions of Murshidabad district today and culling operations will begin tomorrow.
District Magistrate Subir Bhadra said, ''The test results for the blood samples that were sent to the High Security Animal Diseases Laboratory, Bhopal, three days back, have come back and were confirmed positive for the deadly H5N1 virus in Sagardighi-II block, under Dhulian sub-divion and Lalbagh Municipality area.'' Culling operations will begin tomorrow, he said and added that all arrangements were underway to finish the remaining culling operations that had been pent up since January.
