Kalam exhorts youth to launch Ganga revival mission

Varanasi, Mar 8 (UNI) Former president A P J Abdul Kalam has exhorted youth to use science, technology, ''their will power'' to bring back the lost glory of the river Ganga by launching a Ganga revival mission.

Interacting with the students of Banaras Hindu University last evening, Dr Kalam encouraged students from different fields of knowledge, like science, technology, humanity and management, to use their knowledge for the river's betterment.

Expressing concern over the increasing pollution in the river, the asked the students to take a pledge for making Ganga free from pollution.

Answering a question about the river connectivity across the country, he said linking rivers would help solving several problems, including drought, floods and improving the environmental condition.
