Electronic goods worth Rs 35 lakh seized at airport

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) Electronic goods worth Rs 35 lakh were seized from a passenger of a Singapore flight at the international airport here today.

Airport officials said the customs officials, acting on a tip off, checked the suitcase of Sultan (25) hailing from Pudukottai and recovered digital cameras, MP3 players, sim cards and computer accessories.

The accused confessed that the goods were meant for sales in local market.

He was handed over to the airport police for further investigation, the officials added.
