2 killed, 12 injured in bus-jeep collision near Sangrur

Sangrur, Mar 8 (UNI) Two people were killed and 12 seriously injured today when a bus rammed into a jeep at Mehlan Chawk in this district.

While the driver of the jeep, coming from Mandi Gobindgarh to Lehra here, died on the spot, all the 12 pasengers were seriously injured in the accident, police said.

One of the injured jeep passengers later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital while others have been hospitalised.

While the jeep driver has been identified as Bobby Ram, 27, the other deceased passenger's body was yet to be identified.

The driver of the bus, which was on way to Patiala from Sunam, received minor injuries in the accident.

Police were investigating the matter and had impounded both the vehicles.
