Over 100 huts gutted in fire in Tiruchirapalli

Tiruchirappali, Mar 7: Over 100 huts were gutted in a fire at Andakundan slum area in the city on Thusday night.

Assistant Divisional Fire Officer M Padmakumar said over six fire tenders and four water tankers took more than an hour to put out the blaze. However, no loss of life was reported. Household articles worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed, he added.
