James Tupper joins Claire Danes, Zac Efron for Welles biopic
Washington, Mar 7 : James Tupper has signed on to appear alongside Claire Danes and Zac Efron in 'Me and Orson Welles'.
The actor will be portraying actor Joseph Cotton, whose career was launched with roles in Welles' classic "Citizen Kane" and "The Magnificent Ambersons."
Richard Linklater is directing the indie biopic from a screenplay adapted by Holly Gent Palmo and Vincent Palmo Jr. from Robert Kaplow's 2003 novel.
Kaplow's novel follows a teen, to be played by Efron, who is cast in Welles' 1937 Broadway staging of "Julius Caesar" opposite Cotten.
Principal photography has begun in the Isle of Man, London and New York, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
On board as producers are Marc Samuelson, Anne Carli and Linklater with Isle of Man Film Commission and Framestore Feature financing the pic.
Steve Christian, John Sloss and Steve Norris are executive producing, and Sloss' Cinetic Media is handling domestic sales.
