Indonesian Naval Ship arrives Port Blair for CORPAT
Port Blair, Mar 7 (UNI) Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Memet Sastrawiria has arrived here for participating in the opening ceremony of the 11th Cycle of India-Indonesia coordinated patrol (CORPAT), Defence sources said today.
The India-Indonesia Corpat started in 2003 singing of official memoranda between the two navies to prevent smuggling, illegal fishing and entries into each other's waters, Andaman and Nicobar Command PRO Lieutenant Mannu Virk told UNI today.
The CORPAT has carried the international maritime boundary line between the two nations, which falls on south of Indira Point.
Memet Sastrawiria, an Anti-Submarine Corvette, being commanded by Cdr Gema Eka Putra.
The Indonesian officers will interact with the Naval Component and discuss the details of the Coordinated Patrol scheduled from March eight to 25, Lt Virk added.
