India, Myanmar begin Home Secretary-level talks
New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) India and Myanmar today began their Home Secretary-level talks to take stock of various security-related issues, including effective border management and measures to prevent smuggling of arms and narcotic drugs.
The two sides also discussed border trade and cross-border projects at the talks, which would conclude on Monday, a ministry official said.
The Indian delegation is being led by Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta while the Myanmar team is headed by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Brig Gen Phone Swe.
This is the 14th round of annual Home Secretary-level talks between the two countries.
The previous round of talks was held in Myanmar in February last year.
