Cynthia Nixon opens up about 'fantastic' lesbian relationship

Melbourne, March 7 : Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has broken the silence on her love life, insisting that she's "in love" with her lesbian partner Christine Marinoni.

Nixon, who is usually tight-lipped about her private life, opened up about her four-year relationship with Marinoni, and described the bond as "fantastic".

"I'm in a fantastic relationship. It's been about four years," the Daily Telegraph quoted her, as saying.

"I'm in love with (Christine) because she's her. If she were a man, would I be in love with her? I don't know. We shop and cook and raise children - we both pitch in," she added.

Nixon began dating Marinoni in 2003, following her break up with Danny Mozes, her boyfriend of 15 years and the father of her two children, Samantha, 11, and six-year-old Charles.

Talking about her kids' initial reaction to her female lover, Nixon said: "They were fine. My son was very little [when it happened], but my daughter has a gay uncle [and her godmothers] are lesbians."
