2 nabbed for trying to sell textbooks as 'raddi'
Morena, MP, Mar 7 (UNI) A Madhya Pradesh Education Department employee's son and a truck driver have been arrested for attempting to sell as waste Rs 8 lakh worth of textbooks meant for distribution to students in this district under a government scheme, police said today.
A search in Porsa area led to the vehicle being seized along with the textbooks last night. District Education Office employee Shyamveer Singh Tomar's son Omprakash was present in the lorry. Mr Tomar, who served as principal in the government school at Porsa, would also be questioned. The accused confessed that the textbooks were being taken for being sold.
''The case is serious,'' admitted District Collector Akash Tripathi, who ordered a probe.
