Massive disruption of service on north-central line as wagons derail
New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Nine trains were cancelled, 12 rescheduled and 26 others diverted due to derailment of wagons near Danwar station on the Aligarh-Khurja section early this morning, according to the Northern Railway.
The derailment of ten wagons took place at about 0240 hrs today leading to major disruption of traffic on the North-Central Railway lines.
The wagons went off the rails between Danwar and Somna stations.
While nine trains had to be cancelled, massive diversion operations had to be undertaken to prevent inconvenience to passengers, leading to 26 trains being sent through alternate routes.
Among the ones cancelled are seven EMUs.
Besides this, 12 other trains, including Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express and New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Rajdhani Express, had to be resheduled as a consequence of derailment.
Those diverted include Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi, New Delhi-Howrah Express, Prayagraj Express and Mahabodhi Express.
