Ahmedabad-based NGO adjudged best small NGO of western India

Ahmedabad, Mar 6 (UNI) City-based social organisation -- Society for Promoting Rationality (SPART) -- was adjudged the best Small NGO of Western India for 2007 at the All India NGO awards.

In a function held last evening at Delhi, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Infosys mentor Narayan Murthy jointly gave away the awards to India's best NGOs, according to SPRAT sources here today.

Goonj, a Delhi-based NGO that recycles used clothing, was adjudged the all India best NGO, while CRY was adjudged the leader amongst large NGOs.

The awards, instituted by the International Resource Alliance and the Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation, are given annually for best management practices, transparency, accountability and innovation in the voluntary sector.
