TCS launches new initiative for Small and Medium business
Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) To leverage on the huge potential offered by the small and medium business in India, IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today announced the launch of an innovative IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) model offering an end to end IT solution to the SMB segment.
Growing at an aggressive pace of 25 per cent a year, the SMB sector, need not worry about their IT requirements which TCS would take care, TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director S Ramadorai told newsmen here. ''Our aim is to be a leading end to end business solution provider in the SMB segment. It is part of our overall stategy to expand into new markets and customer segments,'' he said adding that this business model could help make Indian business even more competitive on the global stage and put the power of technology on the side of SMB to build competitive advantage.
TCS which had created a separtate SMB unit with Mr V Ramaswamy as its head would roll out ITaaS from April with an intial client count of over ten. ''In the first year, we will look at enlarging this number'' Mr N Chandrasekaran, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of TCS said, adding that the business over the next five years could be around Rs 2000 crore.
TCS would be targetting SMBs with a turnover ranging between Rs 100 to Rs 500 crore.
