Lifer commits suicide inside prison

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 5: A 58-year-old convict lodged in the Central Prison here allegedly committed suicide inside a store in the premises of the jail yesterday.

According to police, V Balasekaran of Andimadam, was convicted and sentenced to life in 2002, in connection with a murder case hanged himself inside the ration store. He was rushed to the Government headquarters hospital here where doctors declared him brought dead. Revnue Divisional Officer, Tiruchirapalli, held an inquest, police added.
