PM to lay foundation stone for 1500 MW Bawana plant on Mar 24

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay the foundation stone for the 1500 MW gas-based power plant at Bawana on March 24.

Speaking at a function here in connection with foundation laying of Asiad village community centre, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the Prime Minister had agreed to lay the foundation stone for the project which, along with a number of projects to enhance power generation in Delhi, would help make the capital self -sufficient in power by 2010.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that concerted efforts would help meet increasing demand of power.

She also stressed the need for power conservation and water conservation.
