Mafia-turned polician D P Yadav merges his party with BSP

Lucknow, Mar 4 (UNI) Mafia-turned politician D P Yadav-led Rashtriya Parivartan Dal today announced its merger with the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Mr Yadav made the announcement to this effect in the Uttar Pradesh Assmebly here.

Incidentally, Mr Yadav and his wife Umlesh Yadav are the only two legislators from their party. Hence, the merger was approved by speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar.

The Rashtriya Parivartan Dal chief is elected member from Sahswan, while his wife represented Bisauli Assembly constituency-both in Badaun district.

With this, the number of BSP members in the 403-member state Assembly reaches 212.
