Farmers Wing flays oppn for criticising farm loan waiver

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 4: The farmers wing of Tiruchirapalli District Congress today took criticised the remarks made by leaders of various political parties on the debt relief and loan waiver of Rs 60,000 crore to marginal and small farmers by the Centre in the Union budget.

Farmers Wing president Puliyur A Nagarajan, in a press release here, thanking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Finance Minister P Chidambaram, said the Union Government's relief package would benefit about four crore farmers all over the country. He said the farmers wing of the Congress would organise black flag demonstration whenever the opposition leaders visit this district if they failed to immediately stop 'unwarranted' criticism against the UPA-led Congress Government for extending the relief package to peasants.
