Crucial EC meeting on K'taka election begins
Bangalore, Mar 4 (UNI) The Election Commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy, today began crucial meetings at the Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat here, amidst rumours of early election to the Karnataka Assembly.
Mr Gopalaswamy presided over the meeting, attended by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner J Balakrishnan, Election Commissioners Navin Chawla and S Y Qureshi.
The team would hold a day-long meeting with presiding officers, Deputy Commissioners of all districts and with leaders of various political parties, tomorrow.
The team is in the city to examine the updated electoral rolls and the fresh delimitation work for Assembly and Lok Sabha segments taken up by the State Election Commission, as per the Kuldip Singh Commission recommendations.
