Woman commits suicide in Kashmir, no impact of Fatwa

Srinagar, Mar 2 (UNI) Yet an other woman allegedly committed suicide in Kashmir as there was no impact of Fatwa by the Muslim Ulemas against taking such extreme step.

Official sources said a woman identified as Razia Bano allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in her house at Sultan Dakhi Uri here She was immediately rushed to hospital where she died.

The trend of committing suicide, particularly by women, in the Kashmir valley has not shown any decline even though the Muslim Ulemas have issued a Fatwa against it. Suicide is an un-Islamic act according to Fatwa.
