Vintage cars grace Delhi, Gurgaon streets

New Delhi, Mar 2 : For car lovers it was a day out when vintage and classic beauties rolled out on the streets of Delhi and Gurgaon on Sunday.

Over 50 vintage and classic beauties rolled out on streets for the 42nd annual Statesman car rally.

The rally organised by The Statesman is an annual event in which scores of car enthusiasts participated.

The Chief of Army Staff, General Deepak Kapoor, flagged off the rally. He appreciated the efforts of the vintage car owners for maintaining their cars after so many years.

"People have maintained their cars with great efforts and we appreciate their efforts. We also appreciate the efforts of the Statesman which has taken an effort to provide an excellent opportunity for these vintage cars to get together at one platform," said General Kapoor.

Majestic Rolls Royce, sturdy Ford, Austins, Jaguar and a 1914 John Morris were some of the yesteryear beauties that participated in the rally.

The participants drove through the streets of the national capital, all the way to Gurgaon before returning to the venue for prize distribution.
