Two Al-Badr militants among three killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 2 (UNI) Two Al-Badr militants were among three people killed while security forces captured two ultras in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
An official spokesman said troops of 34 Rashtriya Rifle (RR) conducted a search operation at village Beerwah in the central Kashmir district of Budgam last evening following a tip off about the presence of militants.
He said during the operation, militants hiding in a house opened fire. The fire was returned.
He said reinforcement was rushed to the area from nearby camps and cordon around the particular house was further tightened.
People leaving in the nearby houses were taken to safe place.
However, the operation was suspended because of darkness.
With the first light this morning, security forces killed both the militants. Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants identified as Janbaz Khan and Imtiyaz Ahmad of Al-Badr.
They said unidentified militants shot dead one Riyaz Ahmad at Warpora Sopore near Jamia Masjid in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Security forces arrested two (UGW) outfit of Lashker-e-Toiba at Chakoora, Pulwama.
