Osian holds preview of Modern

Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) The preview of Osian's ''Indian Modern and Contemporary Art'' collection that displayed the works of 87 artists in 126 lots was held here.

The preview, prelude to an auction to be held in New Delhi on March 18 showcased works in different mediums including F N Souza's 1971 oil on canvas ''Orange Grove'', ''Gouche on Paper'' (1944) and ''Baptism'', M F Hussain's oil on canvas ''Horses'' (late 70s'), K H Ara's ''Woman and Desire' and Tyeb Mehta's untitled oil on canvas works among others were displayed in the preview held yesterday.

''Our interest in Indian contemporary art is increasing with an increase in international interest, hence an enlarged section of the same is being featured in our forth coming auction,'' said Neeti Mallick, specialist in Indian Contemporary Art.
