Two quakes shake Kashmir, no casualties reported
Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Two earthquakes of slight intensity shook the Kashmir valley today forcing people to rush out from their houses.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property during these tremors, officials said.
A weather office spokesman said tremors measuring 4.1 on Richter scale were felt at 1406 hrs in Srinagar and its adjoining areas and lasted a few seconds.
Earlier, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 was felt for a few seconds shortly after midnight last night. The quake, felt at 0011 hrs, was centred at 33.8 degrees North and 74.5 degree East latitude.
On February 25, tremors measuring 3.9 on the Richter Scale were recorded and on February 20, earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 was felt in Srinagar.
