TN Govt mulls directorate for higher secondary education

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 1: The Tamil Nadu Government will examine the possibility of establishing a separate directorate for higher secondary education (HSE) a final decision on which would be taken after consulting Chief Minister M Karurnanidhi, State School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu said.

Participating in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Schools Post Graduate teachers Association's thanks giving conference here last night, the Minister also pointed out to Mr Karunanidhi granting several concessions to government servants and teachers.

In fact, several concessions 'snatched away' by the previous AIADMK Government had now been restored. He said it had been decided to appoint 900 more post graduate tachers during the current year.
