Six of 16 victims of train accident identified
Surat, Mar 1 (UNI) The police have so far identified six of total 16 victims who were mowed down by Kutch Express between Udhna and Surat stations on Wednesday night.
The victims, including two women and two children, were walking on the bridge when they were hit by Kutch Express coming from Mumbai. They had got off at Udhna railway station from Tapti-Ganga train and were walking to nearby villages.
Of the six, police yesterday identified three victims -- Ravichand Rai Rajendra Asharam, Dulari Siyaram and Sitaram, while three others were identified on Thursday. They were Arun Kumar Mishra (25), Jitendra Prasad Gaya Prasad Mishra (22) (both relatives) and Ramesh Babu Milan Bhaskar (20).
According to the investigating officer H M Patel, the relatives of the remaining deceased will reach today and may identify them.
He added that the two drivers who have been taken into custody, would be brought here for further investigations.
