Mischa Barton not joining 'Gossip Girl'

Washington, Mar 1 : Actress Mischa Barton has turned down a role in CW's Gossip Girl, say her reps.

The 22-year-old actress was contacted to play Georgina Sparks, an old friend of reformed party girl Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

"She will not be on the show. She was approached, but her reps passed," Usmagazine.com quoted her rep, as saying.

Right now, Barton is in Paris attending Fashion Week and also doing promotion of her upcoming drama 'Closing the Ring'.

The TV and stage actress was recently charged with DUI and marijuana possession from a December arrest.

Barton was last seen on the Fox hit 'The O.C.' however, her character was killed off in 2006.
