Higher studies in Switzerland: one held for duping man
New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) The East district police has arrested a man for duping a person with over Rs four lakh on the pretext of sending his son to Switzerland for higher studies.
Ramesh Chand of Ganesh Nagar here had lodged an FIR yesterday charging Vijay Shrivastava of collecting Rs 4.60 lakh from him in the name of sending his son to Switzerland for higher studies.
Chand claimed that Vijay had demanded Rs seven lakh for arranging visa and completing formalities to send his son to the European country. But after the victim gave Vijay Rs 4.60 lakh in various installments, he stopped taking his calls and went into hiding.
The police arrested the accused yesterday after conducting several raids.
The accused had published advertisements in newspapers claiming hassel free foreign trips and Chand had contacted him throuh a cell phone number mentioned in the advertisement.
