Good India-Pakistan relations will help resolve Kashmir issue: PDP
Srinagar, Mar 1 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said the people of Kashmir would the be direct beneficiaries of the irreversible Indo-Pak peace process which would get momentum after the new government take reigns in Pakistan.
It also expressed hope that the post-election scenario in Pakistan would unfold new political dynamics between India and Pakistan.
Addressing a one-day party workers convention at Ajas-Bandipora PDP General Secretary Nizam-u-Din Bhat today observed that peace process between India and Pakistan is irretrievable as there is a consensus in both countries that dialogue is the only way to settle differences.
He said even though a brief let-up in Indo-Pak composite dialogue may emerge, but PDP strongly believes that Indian leadership is sincere in moving ahead with the settlement of Kashmir issue through dialogue and reconciliation.
Mr Bhat observed that the PDP aspires for strengthening of democratic institution in Pakistan and he believes that the post-election scenario will have a positive impact on resolution of Kashmir issue in the long run.
Besides party affairs, the socio-economic and developmental issues were discussed threadbare during the meeting.
He expressed anguish that Ajas-Bandipora and its adjoining areas have always been ignored and neglected. He asked the government to be generous in releasing funds so that the developmental works under process are completed speedily.
