Dr Sambasiva Rao Committee submits report to Centre
Chennai, Mar 1 (UNI) Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today said the Dr Sambasiva Rao Committee, which went into the issue of making one-year rural posting compulsory for medicos, had submitted its report to the Centre.
''The Committee has submitted its report. The Health Ministry will study it and a decision will be taken in the next few weeks'', he told reporters here.
He, however, declined to divulge the Committee's recommendations and said it would be disclosed later.
The government's proposed move triggered angry reaction from the medicos in Tamil Nadu who also took the agitational path.
They also had an audience with Dr Ramadoss and aired their grievances, leading to the constitution of the Committee.
