Warrants issued against Babloo and accomplice

New Delhi, Feb 29 (UNI) A city court today issued fresh production warrants against underworld don Babloo Srivastava and his associate Fazl ur-Rahman under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).

A native of Darbhanga in Bihar, Rahman has been named in 14 cases in the capital pertaining to extortion, attempt to murder and kidnapping.

He was also booked in various criminal cases that of including murder in various states and also Mumbai.

The police said he used to run his crime syndicate from Dubai.

Rahman was arrested on August 6, 2006 from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

The police had booked him and Babloo under MCOCA on December 29, 2006.

On January 21, Delhi police claiming to have sufficient evidence filed a chargesheet against both the accused.

''Both the accused used to run an organised gang for their benefits and the member of their syndicate by using violence, threat, intimidation and other unlawful means,'' police alleged in the chargesheet.

Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur, after hearing the matter, issued fresh production warrants against both the accused for March 31.
