Teenage girl commits suicide in Jammu

Jammu, Feb 29 (UNI) A teenage girl committed suicide by consuming poison in Bahu Fort area here this afternoon, police today said.

Dippy, 18, met her lover, Sunil, at a park in Bahu Fort area this morning. The girl consumed poison on the spot and fell unconscious.

''The boy immediately took her to the government medical college hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead,'' police told UNI.

Police said, the deceased and her friend, were residents of Kot Bhalwal area in the city outskirts.

''The statement of the boy is yet to be recorded. Disagreement of family over their relationship could be the reason behind such an extreme step,'' police said.
