Prohibitory orders in MP

Khargone, MP, Feb 29 (UNI) Prohibitory orders were imposed at this district's Mandleshwar today where tension prevailed after a two-wheeler was torched following a dispute stemming from alleged unauthorised transport of cow flesh.

Police used mild force including lobbing tear gas canisters to tackle miscreants.

Trouble brewed after a certain organisation's workers caught two youths, suspected of transporting beef, and demanded their arrest.

Meanwhile some persons torched a two-wheeler and attempted to torch another parked in the police station premises. The market was closed. A case was registered against three people for unauthorised transport and they were arrested. Two others were apprehended for disturbing peace.

Deputy Inspector-General (Nimad Range) N L Dongre, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Gupta and other police officers rushed to the spot.

''The beef was seized and samples sent to Sagar for analysis,'' said Mr Gupta.
