Manmohan Singh a "puppet Prime Minister": Sinha
Shillong, Feb 29(UNI) BJP's star campaigner Shatrughan Sinha said the party was open for post-poll alliance with any like-minded political party, barring the Congress, for clean governance in Meghalaya.
"We have no problem in supporting a non-Congress government in the state," the shotgun of the saffron party said here, even as he hinted of a possible alliance with Nationalist Congress Party, which is supporting the Congress-led UPA government at the centre.
"I believe BJP will play an important role in formation of the next government. We would be happy to keep a check on the activities of the government," the former Union Minister said, assuring that the BJP would provide a stable government to ensure all round development.
Terming Dr Manmohan Singh a 'puppet Prime Minister', Mr Sinha, however, said Dr Singh was an 'honest politician' and a 'true gentleman', but could not make any decision as Prime Minister due to pressure from the rank and file of his party.
