H K Patil welcomes budget
Hubli, Feb 29 (UNI) Opposition Leader in the Karnataka Legislative Council H K Patil today welcomed the Budget proposal for 2008-09 presented in the Parliament by Union Minister for Finance P Chidambaram.
Talking to newsmen here, that for the first time more thrust was given for Agriculture by waiving off farmers loan by earmarking Rs 60,000 crore and this would arrest farmers suicide.
Mr Patil said that the budget was populist package and not election budget. Critics have no place totalk about populist budget.
He said that establishment of Irrigation and Water Resources Finance Corporation would help irrigation and solve drinking water problem in remote villages.
