Gujarat pays homage to Morarji Desai

Gandhinagar, Feb 29 (UNI) Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and assembly speaker Ashok Bhatt led the state in paying homage to late prime minister Morarji Desai on his 112th birth anniversary at the Vidhansabha complex here.

Leaders and members of all parties garlanded the statue of late Mr Desai and paid rich tributes to him.

Desai, who was born in Bhdeli village of South Gujarat on February 29, 1896, went on to become home minister, finance minister and then prime minister of the country.
