Art Karat launches 'Rajwada' collection
Chandigarh, Feb 29 (UNI) Those who get spellbound by antique royal jewellery can now have the taste of ''royality'' with the latest range of 'Rajwada-The Royal Collection' launched by Art Karat, widely known for its semi-precious designer jewellery.
The royal range collection inspired by the magnum era of 'Jodhaa Akbar' has been designed by renowned jewellery designer Asha Kamal Modi. The collection is being displayed here till March 3.
Delhi based Ms Modi who founded the Art Karat in 1988 said here today that ''Over 2,000 magnificiant pieces on display showcase jewellery that depicts grandeur of royal era. The designs range from Rs 1,500 to 60,000 are unique art pieces handcrafted on pure silver with exotic gemstones like Tourmaline, Rubies, Emeralds, Pearls and Kundan.'' ''Using silver as the base metal with precious stones in the setting makes these masterpieces accessible to a larger audience who wish to own a piece of history that was famous for its exquisite Kundan work,'' she added.
Ms Modi who has designed jewelleries for various bollywood films including Devdas, Monsoon Wedding, Kamasutra, Zubeida and Yatra said, ''My passion as a designer is to recreate those designs which are in possesion of royal families and are often seen in the museums but are out of reach to the comman man.''
