Villagers stage rasta roko against TN's project in Hoganekkal
Chamarajanagara, Feb 28 (UNI) Activists of pro-Kannada organisations continued their protest by staging 'rasta roko' against the proposed drinking water project of Tamil Nadu Government at the disputed place in Hoganekkal falls in the district today.
The agitators took out a procession in the town against the Rs 1,341 crore project and urged Tamil Nadu to stop the work immediately.
Speaking on the occasion pro-Kannada organisation Convener Srinivasa Gowda urged both the State Governments to take up the survey on the disputed area and not to take up the works and said otherwise the agitation would be intensified.
Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj has given a call for bandh in Chamarajanagara on March 23.
