Threat mail to Raj Thackeray will be probed: Patil

Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who also holds the Home portfolio, today said appropriate inquiries will be made into the alleged threats received by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray.

The MNS chief had allegedly received an anonymous letter yesterday in which the sender has held threats to Mr Thackeray's life.

Mr Patil, while speaking informally to reporters here today, said he had received a letter from Mr Thackeray regarding the threat mail received by the latter.

Mr Patil, however, said he is yet to go through the letter received by Mr Thackeray. After going through the letter, he will asked the police to conduct an appropriate inquiry, Mr Patil said.

Meanwhile, to a query on the appointment of Director General of Police and Mumbai Police Commissioner, Mr Patil said a formal announcement in this regard will be made only tomorrow. The incumbent DGP P S Pasricha and police commissioner D N Jadhav are retiring tomorrow.
