Sugarcane assn.to stage dharna before Rajbhavan on Mar 1

Mysore, Feb 28(UNI) Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association today decided to stage dharna before Rajbhavan from March one in protest against failure to provide relief to sugarcane growers in the state.

Speaking to newspersons here, the Association President Karubur Shanthakumar said the farmers would resort to agitation, following the Government's failure to concede their demand to pay Rs 200 per tonne over and above the Minimum Support Price(MSP) fixed for sugarcane by the Centre.
