Jammu, Feb 28 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government is all set to ''hand over'' newly constructed flats to around 300 families on the city outskirts here, official sources today said.

''As many as 758 Kashmiri Pandit migrant families will be allotted newly constructed flats in the first phase, which are being constructed at Purkhoo, Muthi-II and Nagrota by Shivratri,'' sources told UNI.

However, the decision was taken at a high-level meeting, which was chaired by the Chief Secretary B R Kundal here yesterday.

''It was decided that 296 migrant families of Muthi camp will be given allotments at Muthi while rest of the allotments to the migrants will be made on drawing lots,'' sources added.

Meanwhile the meeting reviewed the pace of progress on construction work on other flats being built at various places while more than 1024 flats would be allotted to the migrant families by the end of March next year.

Official sources said it was also decided that the registered Kashmiri Migrants can draw advance ration from February 26 onwards for March 2008 in view of ensuing Maha-Shivratri festival to be celebrated nationwide on March 5.
