Govt employees associations stage procession for demands

Puducherry, Feb 28 (UNI) The Confederation of Puducherry State Government Employees Associations took out a procession this evening to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things, conferring of B2 status for Puducherry town, Government employees status to commune panchayat and municipal employees and filling up of 4000 vacant posts in the administration.

The procession, whcih commenced at Swadeshi Cotton mill premises passed through main thoroughfares of the town and reached Nehru statue on the beach, where they held a demonostration and dispersed.
