BJP nominees got elected in mayorol elections

Davanagere, Feb 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates Ms Madamma Muniswamy and Mr Jayanna were elected as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively of the City Corporation in the elections held here today.

The BJP which had a clear majority of 25 in the 41-member house defeated Congress candidates Parasappa and Independent candidate Altaf Hussain for the elections held to the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively.

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor were reserved for SC Women and BCM-A category.
