14 run over by train near Surat

Surat, Feb 28 (UNI) As many as 14 people including two women are feared to be killed when a speeding unidentified train ran over them between Surat and Udhna railway station near Kakrakadi last night, police sources said this morning.

According to the police, the incident occurred when the victims were reportedly trying to cross the railway track. All of them hail from Uttar Pradesh.

The incident was first noticed by the driver of the Flying Ranee who later reported the matter to the Surat railway authorities.

Sources said that the incident might have happened between 2200 hrs and 2300 hrs. The bodies were found scattered over the railway line.

Police and railway officials were rushed to the accident site.
