SP, NCP stage walk out in MP Assly
Bhopal, Feb 27 (UNI) Samajawadi Party and the Nationalist Congress Party members today staged a walk out in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly describing the state's budget for 2008-09 as anti-people.
SP legislators led by Dr Sunilam and NCP's Hamid Qazi staged a walk out opposing no announcement of relief package for drought-affected peasants and labourers in the budget presented by Finance Minister Raghavji.
Dr Sunilam said the budget would reduce purchasing power of people, while there was no relief for women and those living below poverty line (BPL).
Mr Qazi described the budget as anti-people and deceptive. No relief was expected for farmers and labourers.
