Shasun Chem licenses drug technology to US' Merck

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd today said it has signed a non-exclusive deal with US-based Merck and Co to allow the use of its proprietary technology to make bulk drugs.

''Shasun has granted Merck the use of its proprietary cross-coupling copper technology (also known as Buchwald technology) to manufacture and commercialise API's (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients),'' said a company statement.

The technology allows complex new drugs to be manufactured in an efficient and economical way.
