Police refers slapping charge against BJP MLA to speaker
Hyderabad, Feb 27 (UNI) The city police today referred to Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy 'the slapping charge' against BJP MLA G Kishan Reddy, describing it as a ''non-cognizable offence''.
Central Zone DCP Mohd Iqbal told newspersons that the matter had been referred to the Speaker because it was non-cognizable.
Congress MLA Varadarajula Reddy's driver Yella Reddy had lodged a complaint with the Narayanaguda police that Mr Reddy (BJP MLA), representing Himayat Nagar constitutency, had assaulted him following an argument over parking a vehicle at Old MLA quarters yesterday.
